Introduction
Chandan Steel supplies MS angles, channels, beams, pipes, sheets, plates, flats and bars from Manjampakkam, Chennai. Their buyers are fabricators, contractors and builders who need three things quickly: what is in stock, roughly how much it weighs, and how to get a quote.
The problem
A steel dealer’s most valuable information (what is ready to lift today) changes constantly and usually lives only in phone calls and chat messages. The business needed a website that showed the full product range clearly, kept stock news current without waiting on a developer, and made contacting the dealer a single tap.
Objectives

- 03Help buyers estimate material weight before asking for a quote.
- 04Make calling, WhatsApp and quote requests available from every section.
- 05Give search engines and AI assistants clear, structured information about the business.
What we built
A single, focused page
Products, weight calculator, about, industries served, FAQs and contact sit on one page with a clear order, so nobody gets lost in menus. Calls-to-action for quotes, calls and WhatsApp repeat where buyers need them.
Stock Tag: stock updates without a developer
Up to three hand-written-style “stock tags” appear in the hero. The owner edits them from a private update page; changes are saved to a database through serverless functions, with a history of previous tags. On smaller screens the tags become a swipeable slider.
A weight calculator buyers actually need
Buyers choose a section, enter dimensions, length and pieces, and get an estimated weight. Beam and channel weights follow IS 808 tables; round bars use the standard d² ÷ 162 formula; pipe weights follow the dealer’s own chart.
Structured for search
The page carries structured data describing the store (WholesaleStore), its product catalogue with offers, and its FAQs, alongside descriptive titles and meta descriptions for local steel searches.

Implementation
- Hand-built HTML, CSS and JavaScript: no page builder, very little to load.
- Vercel hosting with serverless API routes for reading and saving stock tags.
- Supabase database for stock tags and their change history.
